Graham Lott believes that powerful photography must draw from a wide range of professional and personal experiences. His own diverse background includes directing a contemporary art gallery in Chelsea, picking apples for an orchard in Volta Mantovana, Italy, and skateboarding the streets of Manhattan as a kid. For each of his photography assignments, he creates a new visual and conceptual landscape, combining cultural and art history research with his own travels.
Before starting his own photography, Graham had done set design and lighting as a first assistant for travel, still life, and fashion on many large advertising campaigns, including Ralph Lauren and Nautica, editorial spreads for Vanity Fair and others. He brings a variety of skills to his shoots and in his ability to direct a crew. His own work includes shooting for prestigious clients such as Swarovski Crystal; he has also shot fashion advertising and portraits of famous artist and musicians. While his portraiture demonstrates an empathy and understanding of his subject, his fashion work is distinguished by its elegance and refined, detailed artistry. He strives to create new, exciting work for his clients by embracing the ever-changing world of photography.
